In-home session with a six month old baby boy
Read MoreMy sister-in-law and her family were visiting Portland and they got to be my guinea pigs for this industrial photo session. I have been dreaming of doing family photos around City Liquidators and their festive flags for a very long time. It was a fun change of pass from my usual more natural environments I love to photograph in. Luci Glenn's "tree" also added a nice touch at the end of their documentary style family session. Photographing people I love in a fun new environment made for one of my favorite session to date. Now please, someone else book a photo session at City Liquidators with me!
I had a wonderful Saturday morning hanging out with the Stein family. In true Portland fashion, the rain came in, so we decided to take full advantage of it for some classic Portland weather photos. I actually can't believe this was my first family session where the kids jumped in puddles! Here are a few of my favorites from the day.

Read MoreI met this beautiful family at their home in Vancouver, WA. Natalie (3.5) and Julia (5.5) were so energetic and not camera shy at all! I loved getting to know them and hearing all about their "boyfriends" (or just the boyfriend's name followed by embarrassed giggles). We ventured to Officers Row for some outdoor photos during sunset. Also...Laura casually mentioned to me during the session that she happened to run a Tough Mudder that morning....no big deal. Thank you Laura, Hart, Julia, and Natalie for an exciting summer evening.
I first met Barbara and Joel when we took their maternity photos in March (you can see those photos here). She was due a day after me and we were excited to see how a newborn photoshoot would work out, given we didn't know whose was coming first! Bennett came into the world on June 8th. I brought my new assistant Hugo along for the fun and he proved himself to be an excellent...sleeper. We had so much fun talking about our new additions and sharing our birth stories that I completely lost track of time. And this is why I love my job. I look forward to seeing this beautiful family grow!
I am not sure they come any cuter than these two. I spent a hot summer evening with Ashley and Ben, and they could not have been more fun and willing. The look in Ben's eyes, Ashley's gorgeous bump, and the connection between these two was inspiring to document. I am excited to meet their little Rowan when he makes his entrance this August. Congratulations you two (three!).
This beautiful family is awaiting the arrival of a new baby boy in just a few short weeks. I can already tell Cecilia is going to be one very sweet older sister, and I can't wait to see what he looks like!
I spent a gorgeous Spring evening with this beautiful family. My favorite part of my job is connecting with new families and this one in particular really touched me. I hope the images of this clan of 3 can speak the words I am at a loss for.
I had so much fun meeting Barbara and her husband Joel, who are expecting their first baby boy in early June. And I can't forget soon-to-be big brother Boz, their sweet dog. We are due one day apart, so we really bonded over our pregnancy joys (and woes). I am really looking forward to meeting their baby when he arrives! I can already tell what loving parents they will be to the lucky guy. And extra kudos to Barbara for being a trooper in heels all over (a somewhat mushy) Laurelhurst park!
