Southeast industrial family session :: Portland, Oregon lifestyle photographer

My sister-in-law and her family were visiting Portland and they got to be my guinea pigs for this industrial photo session. I have been dreaming of doing family photos around City Liquidators and their festive flags for a very long time. It was a fun change of pass from my usual more natural environments I love to photograph in. Luci Glenn's "tree" also added a nice touch at the end of their documentary style family session. Photographing people I love in a fun new environment made for one of my favorite session to date. Now please, someone else book a photo session at City Liquidators with me!

Ellis :: In-Home Session :: Lauren LaBarre Photography

When Katie contacted me to see if I would ever come to Denver for a session, I was super excited to make it happen. Katie is my partner's cousin who I have never met, but I had an idea we would connect right away. It was amazing to finally meet, and to see that Ellis totally resembles my little guys as well. Ellis is currently sleeping in the same family heirloom crib that has been passed down through multiple generations. The same crib Alden slept in when he was tiny! Thank you Katie and Adam for welcoming me into your home (and for super delicious coffee and croissants). I can't wait to see you guys again.

The Stein Family :: In-Home Session :: Mt. Tabor, Portland, Oregon

I had a wonderful Saturday morning hanging out with the Stein family. In true Portland fashion, the rain came in, so we decided to take full advantage of it for some classic Portland weather photos. I actually can't believe this was my first family session where the kids jumped in puddles! Here are a few of my favorites from the day.

The Wilds :: In-Home Family Session :: Ashland, Oregon

I spent a sunny (yet slightly snowy!) Sunday afternoon with the Wild family at their home in Ashland. They recently relocated to Ashland from Portland, so I got to document the start of this new chapter for their family. It was supposed to be a quick session, but I had a hard time stopping myself, they were so fun and easy to photograph. I hope to photograph more magical Ashland families in the future!

Everett :: Newborn Photo Session :: Portland, OR

That little toddler jumping on the bed just so happens to be the little guy who kickstarted my career. My first photo session was doing maternity photos with Meghann, my friend of 24 (?!) years. Since then we have grown by two more little boys, and a lot less time to have an uninterrupted conversation. My favorite thing about being a family photographer is watching families grow, especially when they are lifelong friends. When I see those first maternity photos now, I realize just how special it was to document the beginnings of this family. xo

The Greens :: Family Lifestyle Photographer :: Vancouver, WA.

I met this beautiful family at their home in Vancouver, WA. Natalie (3.5) and Julia (5.5) were so energetic and not camera shy at all! I loved getting to know them and hearing all about their "boyfriends" (or just the boyfriend's name followed by embarrassed giggles). We ventured to Officers Row for some outdoor photos during sunset. Also...Laura casually mentioned to me during the session that she happened to run a Tough Mudder that morning....no big deal. Thank you Laura, Hart, Julia, and Natalie for an exciting summer evening.

Bennett :: Newborn Lifestyle Photographer :: Portland, OR.

I first met Barbara and Joel when we took their maternity photos in March (you can see those photos here). She was due a day after me and we were excited to see how a newborn photoshoot would work out, given we didn't know whose was coming first! Bennett came into the world on June 8th. I brought my new assistant Hugo along for the fun and he proved himself to be an excellent...sleeper. We had so much fun talking about our new additions and sharing our birth stories that I completely lost track of time. And this is why I love my job. I look forward to seeing this beautiful family grow!
