Nervous for a family session? This post is for you.

Our society has long upheld the white, heteronormative family as the ideal of “the American family,” but that concept is tired, outdated and false (also boring!).

Families come in all shapes, sizes and colors, and it’s important to me that all families feel visible and celebrated, no matter their structure. In my business and in my life, single parent families are just as valuable as two-parent or multi-

parent families. Same-sex parents are honored in the same way our society honors heterosexual parents. BIPOC families matter.

It’s so true that families are built with love. Love is made visible in shared smiles, in clasped hands, in little heads resting on big shoulders.

It would be my privilege to capture your family’s unique personality through photography.

In my portraits, I hope you’ll see the beauty of your special people, both as individuals, and as a dynamic group.

I offer 90-minute sessions so there’s plenty of time for everyone to get comfortable and relaxed, and to have fun together!

There is beauty in every moment—even the chaotic ones.
